Aughton Ainsworth International Law Firm was established in 2004. We are a UK law firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority with clients all over the world.
When we established the law firm we committed to giving from the profits of the firm with a view to building orphanages throughout the world. Our goal was to partner with existing local orphanages by providing the buildings to them rent free and meeting all costs of maintenance of the building.
In 2013 we were introduced to Blessed Hill Uganda which was run by Sarah Sabiti. At the time, Blessed Hill had been served notice by its landlord to vacate its property as the landlord wished to develop the site as a petrol station. With nowhere to go the children remained on the site until the Landlord started to demolish the building around them. At the time there were 170 children at the orphanage. A number were moved to families within the local church and the rest were moved to Sarah’s house.
It was at this point that we visited Sarah in February 2014 and came to fully understand the desperate situation that she and the children were in. We purchased a 3 acre site about 1 hour outside of Kampala on which we built the new Blessed Hill.
The building works progressed with one building for the accommodation and classrooms for the nursery children and one for the primary school children. A bore hole was installed to provide fresh and constant water to the site and the site was fenced. There is enough space on the site for the children to play and for us to grow our own food and keep chickens, pigs and goats.
Finally, the children were moved to the new Blessed Hill in January 2015.
We had never intended to fund raise for the charity but when people have come to hear of our story they have asked how they can support us and this site is so that we can pass on information to anyone interested. Any support received will go towards the ongoing cost of running the orphanage allowing us to continue to develop Blessed Hill and allow us to save for our next project.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world
